The All China Games on Saturday 15 June are fast approaching and it’s time to start booking transport and accommodation and to complete the necessary player registration. It’s a terrific weekend of sporting action, with some partying added for good measure, and all club members are encouraged to participate!!
The games start early on the 15th so it’s necessary to arrive in Beijing on Friday night the 14th at the latest. The games finish by about 5 pm and we normally party hard on the Saturday night but there’s nothing preventing you from heading home on the Saturday evening if you wish (boring!!!) or if you absolutely have to (just about acceptable).
It is the responsibility of each attendee to arrange their own transport and accommodation. Please the attached file below for more information on this.Β The Games’ Hotel has a special rate guaranteed till 15 May only 540 rmb per day (for a twin/dbl room incl of b’fast/service/internet). A bus will run direct from there to/from the playing venue. There is also info listed on a cheaper hostel nearby. For transport you can fly to Beijing (about a 2 hours flight, see ctrip, returns flights currently c.1,300rmb) or take a high speed train (5 hours, about 1,100 rmb return fare). The normal 8 hour train has a return fare of 800 rmb.
The Games’ registration fee is 300 rmb per player (100 rmb for supporters) and this must be paid by Saturday May 25th at the latest so that we can meet the 31 May deadline. Please bring it to training asap. You will also be required to sign a player registration form (see attached below), so please have your passport no. and passport expiry date to hand.
Next week, through the club deputy system, we will be looking to firm up on who intends to travel to Beijing.
