SUZHOU CHALLENGE GAMES 13 AND 20 APRIL AND 12 MAY
Our traditional series of challenge games with the Suzhou Club start on Saturday 13 April with a Shanghai Gaelic trip to Suzhou. Transport and facilities are provided free of charge and the only expenses for members are their own food and drink expenses. On the 20th of April, Suzhou visit us (see below for club social event ‘Spring Fling Boat Cruise’ to tie in with this), and then we finish the series with a visit to Suzhou on 12 May. These are enjoyable afternoons with all participants getting 3 or 4 competitive games and then enjoying a few beers and some grub. However, they are vital in selection and preparation for the China Games in June.
SOUTH EAST ASIA GAMES 25 MAY SINGAPORE
This year, as part of our preparation for The All China Games in Beijing on Saturday June 15, the club will be entering Men’s and Ladies’ teams in the South East Asia Games which are being held in Singapore on May 25. Flights to Singapore currently cost c. 3,300 rmb (see Ctrip) and there will be various budget hostel accommodation options in the range of 140-160 rmb per person per night available. The official Games Hotel will cost c.1,300 rmb per night for a twin room catering for 2 (web + b’fast incl.) There is also a small tournament registration fee payable.
