Things may be quietening down for the summer but please note the following;

Training:  Training resumes, every Tuesday at 8 pm in Luwan Stadium over the summer. There will be no further Saturday training until some date in August (date tbc).

Karl and Emily Farewell:  Yes, our good friends,club stalwarts and fancy dress champions, Karl and Emily, will be going back to Ireland next week for good! There is a farewell Teppanyaki Party at No.7 Donghu Road 8pm on Saturday 29 June. Camel Bar Puxi after the Teppanyaki.Please send this information to your friends who might know Karl and Emily and confirm attendees with Jack Meng at Jackmj1982@hotmail.com or 13671656724, asap!

All China Games Photos:  The Beijing club has forwarded photos of the very successful event (for Shanghai!!). From Wednesday, they can be viewed on our club website under the “Events/Pics tab”  and also on our facebook page https://facebook.com/ShanghaiGaa .

Children’s Spring Cup Saturday 22 June at SRFC:   Our youth programme finished up for the summer with a very successful tournament and three teams battling hard for the Cup – the Blue Team captained by Ciara Murray emerged victorious. Club Chairman Brian Murphy  presented the Cup, and medals to all participants. Thanks to all who helped on the day; mentors Ger Carmody, Michelle Surlis and Orla Sullivan; Head Coach and Referee Declan Declan Sullivan; interns and goalkeepers Louise and Emma. Thanks also to Adrian Donaghue for his help with the youth programme, and sponsors ‘The Shanghai Ireland Association’ (runs St Patrick’s Ball). Children’s training resumes in September and is free and open to all comers.

Students – Bon Voyage and Best Wishes:  Many of our student members will soon have completed exams and be heading back to Ireland. We thank them for their contribution to the club and wish them good luck with results and best wishes for the future. Hopefully some of them will make it back to Shanghai some day!

Saturday 30 November   – Hurling All Stars visit Shanghai, play exhibition game at SRFC.
