With a successful China Games now behind us, the focus now shifts towards the Asian Games in KL in October. We got great numbers travelling to Beijing and we would like to repeat this going to KL.
We encourage members to start preparations now or soon as they can. Booking flights and accommodation early can save in the long run as prices can rise if booking right before the event. Please see the following details regarding flights and accommodation.
Flights
Air Asia is currently offering flights to KL for the weekend of the Asian Games for less than 2,500 RMB. These are direct flights from Pudong Airport into KL and can be booked on www.airasia.com
Cathay Pacific also has flights for about 3,000 RMB.
These go via Hong Kong. www.cathaypacific.com
Hotel Accommodation
We have been informed by the organizers of the Asian Gaelic Games that the official hotel for AGG 2013 is the Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur (http://www.hotelistana.com.my/aboutus).
This hotel will be the venue for the opening ceremony of the games on the 11th of October and the closing ceremony 13th of October. A rate of RM340 inclusive of all taxes and charges per room per night has been negotiated. This rate includes two breakfasts and WIFI for the duration of the stay in Kuala Lumpur. Please book directly using the hotel website using the code “gaelic” in the access code field to activate this deal.
We have also been informed that because this rate is so low (it is better than any comparable deals on booking.com or agoda.com)it will only be available until the 15th of July when a sizable portion of the rooms allocated to the event will be lost if they have not been booked.
